In spite of a career in chemistry, artist Marie-Claude Courteau finds the time to dedicate to her other passion of painting. She participated in 2000 in the Big Competition of the “Cercle des Artistes Peintres et Sculpteurs du Québec”, where she won an award in the category " Representational Reality ". Followed by four solo and several collective exhibitions and Symposia. In 2006 and 2007, she won First and Second prizes during Art Contests in Mascouche, Valleyfield, and La Prairie. Her art is now represented by three galleries in Quebec, “Galerie Pierre Séguin” in l’Île Perrot, “Le Balcon d’Art” in St-Lambert, and Galerie 865 in Mont-Tremblant, as well as in several private collections in Canada and the United States.
