Johanna Reynolds

After more than twenty years of curating, creating, and art making in various forms, Johanna Reynolds is stepping firmly into her authentic role as a mixed media painter. Johanna brings a wealth of experience to her practice- allowing daily life, emotional endurance and a spectrum of childhood memories to inform her visual communication to an external audience.

Beloved and favoured imagery taken from the natural world is abstract in form and expressed with oils, acrylics and pencil markings. Graphic colours and shapes of the familiar and elemental are juxtaposed, producing delightfully open-ended visions bordering on fantastical. Johanna lives and paints in Toronto’s west end. She is blessed to share her life with her husband Zach, her two young children and their dog, Frida.
