Artist’s Statement
The Tree forms a unity of purpose that we see in the structure, the bark and the environment in which it exists. We refer to the tree as noble, courageous, and marvel at the longevity. All of these are attributes we ascribe to humans, whether we talk of character, personality, or examining the life we live.
I love the Impasto (thick and textured surface) style of painting and working a variety of acrylic mediums to build with textures.
